Akin Gump Ranked Among Most Diverse Law Firms in California

(Los Angeles) – Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is pleased to announce it placed sixth overall in the Recorder’s “California Law Firms and Diversity” rankings. The placements are based on a firm’s total partner and non-partner minority percentages.

The Recorder singled out Akin Gump’s “extensive” participation in the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity (SEO) Program, which recruits diverse college students and recent graduates attending law school and places them in summer internships in law firms and financial institutions. Marissa Román Griffith, an SEO alumna who went on to become a corporate partner in the firm’s Los Angeles – Century City office, was highlighted for having been recently recognized as the best lawyer in the “media and entertainment” category at the 2012 Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards.
