Akin Gump Ranks Among Top Firms in Associate Satisfaction Nationwide, Top 5 in Key Markets per Am Law Annual Survey

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that, in The American Lawyer’s 2017 Midlevel Associate Survey, it has placed sixth in the national rankings, and ranked among the top five firms in key markets, including the number one spot in Washington, D.C., home to its largest office.

The survey looks at various aspects of job satisfaction for third-, fourth- and fifth-year associates, including compensation and benefits, training and guidance, interaction with partners and other associates, the interest and satisfaction level of the work, the firm’s billable hours policy, and management’s openness concerning partnership opportunities and firm strategy.

As noted, beyond the firm’s top spot for D.C., it also secured number two rankings in Dallas and Houston as well as a number three ranking in Los Angeles, and placed among the top 15 firms in New York.

These top-tier rankings follow the firm’s recent placement in Am Law’s A-List of the top 20 law firms in the United States for the fourth consecutive year (learn more here). A firm’s performance on the Midlevel Associate Survey is among the factors that are calculated to determine its position on the A-List.
