Akin Gump’s Health Industry, Global Project Finance Practices Named as Law360 Practice Groups of the Year

In describing Akin Gump’s health industry practice’s achievements, Law360 singled out, among others, a Medicare reimbursement victory over the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services worth hundreds of millions of dollars for hospitals around the country, as well as victories defending health care providers against False Claims Act cases.
Highlights of the firm’s global project finance practice included counseling clients with projects financed through the alternative energy loan guarantee program on several $1+ billion deals, including the $1.2B SunPower/NRG Energy 250-megawatt solar project in California and the $1.6B debt financing of the 392-megawatt Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System, slated to be the largest solar project in the United States.
