Akin Gump Shortlisted in Nine Categories for IFLR1000 US Awards

(Washington, D.C.) – IFLR1000 has announced the shortlists for its inaugural IFLR1000 United States Awards, and Akin Gump has been named in nine categories.
The awards celebrate the most innovative U.S. deals and the best-performing law firms and lawyers in the country in 2019.
The firm is a finalist in the categories:
- State Firm of the Year: California.
- State Firm of the Year: District of Columbia.
- Deal of the Year: Projects (Holstein 200MW solar power plant).
- Deal of the Year: Projects (Lāwa’i 28MW solar power 100 MWh energy storage facility).
- Deal of the Year: Restructuring and Insolvency (iHeart Media restructuring).
- Deal of the Year: Restructuring and Insolvency (Nine West restructuring).
- Deal of the Year: Restructuring and Insolvency (Sears restructuring).
- Deal of the Year: Restructuring and Insolvency (Sungard restructuring).
- Team of the Year: Projects.
According to IFLR1000, the awards shortlists are “the culmination of seven months' research, analysing hundreds of submissions, surveying thousands of referees and interviewing hundreds of lawyers.”
Winners will be announced online on September 16, 2020.
