Akin Gump Takes Home Numerous Honors at Texas Legal Awards 2020

(Houston and Dallas) – Akin Gump lawyers received several recognitions at Texas Lawyer’s Texas Legal Awards 2020, held this year in a virtual ceremony.
Partner Christine LaFollette received a Lifetime Achievement award, given to a lawyer who has left “a lasting imprint on the Texas legal community.”
Partner Eric Muñoz was named a Diversity & Inclusion Champion, as someone who “has overcome insurmountable odds to achieve success,” or has had “an outsized influence on inclusivity initiatives to make people of all backgrounds feel welcomed at their firm or organization.”
In the On the Rise category, partners John Bain and Cynthia Mabry were both recognized as lawyers under the age of 40 “who have wielded influence in their practice areas in Texas and beyond.”
Partner Michelle Reed was a finalist in the Attorney of the Year category, presented to the lawyer who had “the biggest impact on the law or the Texas legal community or did the most to advance the cause of justice.”
With these distinctions, Akin Gump was the most-recognized firm at this year’s Awards. The Texas Legal Awards highlight “the great work and achievements across the full breadth of the Texas Lawyer legal community.”
