Akin Trio Honored with New York Law Journal Innovation Award

(New York) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that, as part of New York Law Journal’s Innovation Awards, three Akin Gump partners were honored for their creative approach in a historic matter.

For their work on the PG&E bankruptcy, the largest restructuring ever filed in California and the sixth-largest in the country, financial restructuring partners David Botter, Abid Qureshi and Michael Stamer were all selected among individual lawyers who demonstrated “creative and inspiring approaches and forward-thinking.” They and other winners will be recognized in New York Law Journal’s upcoming Professional Excellence magazine and honored at a ceremony on Oct. 13.

All three lawyers were also spotlighted when the firm’s work on the PG&E bankruptcy was recognized as a standout matter in the “Practice of Law” category in Financial TimesNorth American Innovative Lawyers report in late 2020 (learn more here).
