“China Policy: The Roadmap for Electric Vehicles,” an article by Akin Gump Los Angeles-based partner Kerin Cantwell and Beijing-based counsel Ingrid Cheng of the firm’s global project finance and funds practices, respectively, has been published in US-China Market Review.  The Review is a joint production of the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) and the Chinese Renewable Energies Industries Association (CREIA).

In this article, Cantwell and Cheng discuss the reorientation of China’s automobile industry toward electric vehicles by the country’s central government to promote electric vehicles as a way to fulfill several national policy objectives, including those to do with decreased reliance on imported oil and increased competitiveness in the global auto industry.
