(Washington, D.C.) – Washington Business Journal has named Akin Gump energy regulation, markets and enforcement practice head Chip Cannon an LGBTQ+ Business Leader as part of its annual Business of Pride awards, which honor companies and business leaders in the nation’s capital for their outstanding practices in advancing LGBTQ+ leadership and equality.

According to the publication, the LGBTQ+ Business Leader Awards recognize those “who openly support and promote their communities by making a difference in the corporate world.” Mr. Cannon was the only private practice lawyer selected for inclusion this year.

Mr. Cannon, along with the other honorees, will be celebrated at a virtual awards ceremony on June 10.

In 2019, Mr. Cannon was named to The National Law Journal’s inaugural list of Equality Trailblazers. To read more about that recognition, please click here.
