David Eisenstat Named Among Top 10 Hospital Lawyers in the United States

(Washington, D.C.) – David H. Eisenstat, a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and the chair of its national health industry practice, has been named one of 10 “Outstanding Hospital Lawyers” of 2006 by Nightingale’s Healthcare News.
Since joining Akin Gump in 1976, Mr. Eisenstat has represented hospital clients in a broad spectrum of engagements, including Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payor reimbursement matters; fraud and abuse issues; managed care contracting; government investigations; antitrust litigation; legislative advocacy; and general commercial litigation. He has extensive experience before state and federal administrative agencies and before state and federal trial and appellate courts.
Mr. Eisenstat’s clients include large hospital and health care systems, academic medical centers and community hospitals. Many of these relationships span nearly three decades. In addition to his legal practice responsibilities, Mr. Eisenstat is a member of Akin Gump’s management committee.
He received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the Syracuse University College of Law, where he was research editor of the Law Review.
