For its article “The Quintessential Lawyer,” on Hillary Clinton and the impact of her experience in private legal practice on a possible presidency, Law360 quoted Akin Gump public law and policy head Donald Pongrace.

Pongrace noted, “Lawyers are called upon to not just analyze problems, but to help actually solve them. This is what sets Secretary Clinton apart, and it is what has ultimately helped to define her career in and out of public service.”

He also said, regarding the use of “lawyerly” to describe Clinton’s responses on certain topics, “Lawyers have to be careful with words, just like politicians must be. Words, like elections, have consequences.”
