(Washington, D.C.) – As part of its expansion of the firm’s ability to help clients meet the policy challenges confronting the health care industry, Akin Gump announced that five additional attorneys and advisors are joining the firm. This supplements last week’s arrival of a top-tier health care policy team led by John Jonas. All will be part of Akin Gump’s public law and policy practice in Washington, D.C.
The arrival of Caitlin McCormick, who will be counsel, associate Eli Tomar, policy advisors Heidi Bajnrauh and Julie Black and senior policy specialist Kendall Hussey, combined with the seven attorneys and advisors previously announced, further enhances Akin Gump’s role as a leader in all aspects of health care policy and advocacy.
These five health care policy professionals bring with them substantial experience and knowledge in advising clients, including hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and specialty coalitions, on legislative, regulatory and congressional issues pertaining to health care policy, Medicare and Medicaid coverage and reimbursement, legislative strategy and reimbursement strategies, among other topics.
This combined team of 12 outstanding health care policy professionals, working in concert with the firm’s established top-tier public law and policy and health regulatory groups, will be able to provide comprehensive counsel and representation for every aspect of the health care industry.
Public law and policy practice head Don Pongrace said, “These individuals, along with all the others we have been able to bring on board in the past few weeks, are all at the top of their respective fields and in areas that represent key strategic priorities for our firm and our clients. The combined health policy group, in particular, is a terrific addition to our capabilities in this important sector of the economy.”
