For Second Consecutive Year, Akin Gump Scores Top 10 National Ranking in Am Law Associate Satisfaction Survey

(Washington, D.C.) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce that, for the second consecutive year, it has earned a top 10 national ranking in The American Lawyer’s Midlevel Associates Survey.

Coming in at number seven out of 102 firms surveyed in the national ranking, the firm also earned a string of top 10 placements in the city rankings, including taking number one in Dallas and number three in Washington, D.C., as well as vaulting seven spots to number seven in New York.

For this survey, The American Lawyer solicits responses on various aspects of job satisfaction from third-, fourth- and fifth-year associates. A firm’s national and city scores are the average of 12 questions on interest and satisfaction; levels of work; benefits and compensation; relations between associates and between partners and associates; training and guidance; management openness about firm strategies and partnership chances; the firm’s attitude toward pro bono work; its billable hours policy; and the likelihood of the associate being at the firm in two years.

These high rankings follow the firm’s fifth consecutive placement in Am Law’s annual A-List ranking of the top 20 law firms in the United States for the year (learn more here). A firm’s performance on the Midlevel Associates Survey is among the factors calculated to determine its position on the A-List.
