For Second Year in a Row, Akin Gump Awarded 2019 Gold Standard Certification by Women in Law Empowerment Forum

(New York) – Women in Law Empowerment Forum (WILEF) has, for the second consecutive year, recognized Akin Gump with its 2019 Gold Standard Certification.

WILEF awards this status to firms that meet objective criteria concerning the number of women among equity partners, in firm leadership positions and in the ranks of their most highly compensated partners.

Firms receiving Gold Standard Certification must demonstrate that at least 20 percent of equity partners or 33 percent of lawyers becoming equity partners be women in the preceding 12 months. Firms must also qualify by meeting three of five separate criteria, such as percentage of women of color or women LGBT equity partners and percentage of women governance committee members.
