(London) – Akin Gump financial services regulatory partner Helen Marshall has been named to the Top 100 Women in Investigations 2015 by Global Investigations Review. Marshall was selected among a group of women who “can serve as inspirations to current and future generations of investigations professionals.”
As part of a profile of her, Marshall discussed the origins of her career, noting that she spent nearly a decade as an enforcement head of department and the head of forensic investigations at the Financial Conduct Authority. She also talked about the challenges associated with her practice, including “delivering competent, focused and strategic advice to clients who are in great need of it.”
In addition, Marshall talked about “the increasing cross-border nature of investigations” as well as the growing competition between agencies, “which can make it very difficult to advise clients on how to best resolve a set of circumstances or to predict the eventual outcome.”
To women who are just beginning their careers, Marshall suggested they find something they “really enjoy, work hard and see where it takes [them].” And, finally, “be true to your values along the way.”
