Akin Gump oil and gas partner John Goodgame has been quoted in the Dallas Morning News article “Capital drying up for oil, gas” on the decline of available capital for oil and gas deals in the second half of the year. The article also appeared in The Texas Lawbook.

Prior to the slowdown, the article notes that the month of March was particularly hot for securities offerings with $50 billion raised through 55 such deals. Goodgame said, “Had that money [and public financing] not been available in the first two quarters, we would be seeing a full meltdown now. Capital markets have floated companies a lot.”
