LegalWeek Shortlists Akin Gump for Restructuring Firm of the Year at Transatlantic Legal Awards

(London) – Akin Gump is pleased to announce it has been shortlisted for the LegalWeek Transatlantic Legal Awards 2019 in the category of Transatlantic Restructuring Team of the Year. The firm was named a finalist for its role in the restructuring of Seadrill Ltd., in which it represented the offshore drilling contractor’s unsecured bondholders.

The Transatlantic Legal Awards recognize “excellence in handling transatlantic matters.” Awards will be presented in London on June 13.

Akin Gump’s financial restructuring team has been the recipient of a number of industry recognitions in 2019: It was named a “Practice Group of the Year” by Law360, shortlisted for IFLR Europe Awards’ Restructuring Law Firm of the Year awards, recognized for serving as counsel for the Restructuring Deal of the Year at the IFLR Asia-Pacific Awards 2019 and was among the honorees in the category Finance Deal of the Year: Insolvency and Restructuring at The Asia Legal Awards.
