Marty Brimmage in Texas Lawyer Video on Bankruptcy Plan Attacks

Akin Gump Dallas-based litigation partner Marty Brimmage Jr. was the subject of a video interview by Texas Lawyer to discuss bankruptcy plan attacks.
In the interview, Brimmage discusses, among other topics, the conditions under which bankruptcy plans are attacked by those unhappy with the plan as well as ways to include injunction language to prevent challenges to the plan in other courts or other jurisdictions.

Earlier this month, Brimmage secured victories on behalf of Lothian Oil in back-to-back bankruptcy plan defenses that inspired this interview. In the span of two days, the client won two appellate victories, in the 2nd and 5th circuit courts of appeals, regarding bankruptcy plan injunctions involving a minority group of equity interest holders who sought to collect more than $100 million in damages.
