Stephen Mansfield Named Director for Guide Dogs for the Blind

(San Francisco) Stephen A. Mansfield, partner in charge of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP’s San Francisco office and co-leader of the firm’s white collar defense practice, has been named a new director for Guide Dogs for the Blind effective July 1, 2012. Guide Dogs for the Blind has partnered blind and visually impaired people with trained guide dogs free of charge since its inception in 1942. Since that time, the school has graduated more than 10,000 teams of humans and their guide dogs. Mr. Mansfield has served on the Guide Dogs for the Blind’s audit committee since August 2011. As a board member, he will continue his work on the audit committee, work to advance the mission of the organization and help guide a major capital campaign to build a new student residence on the organization’s California campus. The firm has provided pro bono legal services to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
