For The Hill’s article “Japan launches major lobbying blitz on trade,” Parven, whose work in this area has been previously profiled in the press (learn more here), said, regarding the potential positive impact of such an agreement, “We are doing a lot of talking about how the agriculture industry would be a big winner in this deal — this is really the Super Bowl for the agriculture industry,” adding that a bilateral trade deal would yield “economic benefits across many sectors.”
For Roll Call’s “Japan Taps Lobbyists to Bolster U.S. Ties,” he noted that Japanese PM Shinzo Abe’s ongoing visit to the United States makes this “a big week — the first time in over 50 years that a Japanese prime minister has addressed a joint session of Congress. It comes at a critical time geopolitically and economically. It’s a good time to reinforce the critical nature of the alliance to the Hill and to stakeholders in Washington.”
