Thomas McCarthy Recognized Among WorldECR’s “Highly Commended” Export Practitioners of the Year

(Washington, D.C.) – WorldECR has recognized Akin Gump international trade practice co-head Thomas McCarthy as being among the “highly commended” export practitioners of the year in the publication’s inaugural “The WorldECR Awards.”
The WorldECR Awards, the publication notes, recognizes the “outstanding work, vision, best practice, commercial benefit to the company, and contribution to international security, of organisations and individuals working in the fields of export control and sanctions compliance and nonproliferation.”
In WorldECR’s profile of Mr. McCarthy, the publication notes his contribution to traditional regulatory compliance, saying that he helped modernize the practice by “using a combination of project management, technology and an intimate knowledge of client business operations to design and strengthen export and sanctions compliance procedures within large, complicated organizations.”
