Three Akin Gump Partners Named Among California’s Top Labor and Employment Lawyers

(Los Angeles, California) – The Daily Journal has named Catherine A. Conway, Howard D. Fabrick and Gregory W. Knopp, partners in the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, to its 2010 list of California’s top labor and employment lawyers.
Mr. Fabrick was named as one of the state’s five best labor lawyers, while Ms. Conway and Mr. Knopp were named among the state’s leading employment defense lawyers.
Mr. Fabrick was recognized for negotiating a renewal of a low-budget theatrical agreement with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees on behalf of 15 independent film production companies and for representing the NFL Network in negotiations over an agreement with the Directors Guild of America to cover the production of live games and other sports programs.
Ms. Conway and Mr. Knopp were recognized for their representation of Starbucks in Chau v. Starbucks Corp., in which a state court of appeal overturned a $100 million verdict against the coffee chain and found that its tip policy was lawful.
