The Washington Post, in its article “As momentum builds toward tax reform, lobbyists prepare for a fight,” quoted Akin Gump public law and policy partner Robert Leonard on corporate stakeholders in tax code reform.

Leonard notes that while some corporations “are primarily interested in rate reduction, others. . . don’t want those tax benefits reduced or eliminated.  That’s the challenge of tax reform—it’s all about winners and losers.”

Prior to joining Akin Gump, Robert Leonard served as chief counsel and staff director of the Committee on Ways and Means of the U.S. House of Representatives (1987-1993), as chief majority tax counsel of the Committee (1981-1986) and as its majority tax counsel (1974-1980).
