Yale Law Women Names Akin Gump Among Top Firms for Gender Equity and Family Friendliness

(New York) – Akin Gump has been named by Yale Law Women (YLW) among the top law firms in two separate categories of its 16th Annual Top Firms for Gender Equity and Family Friendliness Report.
Akin Gump was one of three firms recognized in the LGBTQ+ Representation category. Earlier this year, Akin Gump received a perfect score in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual Corporate Equality Index, which evaluates the corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. YLW invited all firms listed in this year’s Vault Law 100 to participate in the survey, asking them to answer questions with data reflecting the 2020 calendar year and their U.S. office locations. The report also contains data from a survey of Yale Law School alumni of all genders currently working at Vault 100 firms.
YLW says it hopes the report will serve as a tool for law firms, lawyers and law students to help build more equitable workplaces.
