Biography
  • Advises clients in complex corporate restructurings and bankruptcies, including multijurisdictional and cross-border matters.
  • Represents creditors, debtors, bondholders, hedge funds, institutional investors and ad hoc and official creditors’ committees.

Brad is a financial restructuring practitioner, focused on large, complex in-court and out-of-court corporate restructurings. Brad’s experience includes representing ad hoc and official creditors’ committees, as well as debtors, in high-profile chapter 11 cases. He also advises clients in multijurisdictional and cross-border insolvency proceedings. 

Brad’s restructuring matters encompass a variety of industries, including energy, telecommunications, shipping, technology and printing.

  • SVB: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 case of SVB Financial Group, the former parent company of Silicon Valley Bank, involving more than $3.4 billion in liabilities.
  • Talen Energy: Counsel to an ad hoc group of first lien creditors in the chapter 11 cases of Talen Energy and its affiliates, one of the largest power generation and infrastructure companies in North America, involving $4.455 billion in liabilities.   • Nordic Aviation Capital: Counsel to an ad hoc group of noteholders in the chapter 11 case of Nordic Aviation Capital Designated Activity Company, the fifth-largest aircraft leasing company in the world, involving $6 billion in liabilities.   • FirstEnergy Solutions: Counsel to the debtors in the chapter 11 cases of FirstEnergy Solutions and its subsidiaries, an electric utility that services roughly one million residential, commercial and industrial customers, involving $3.8 billion in liabilities.

  • Foresight Energy: Counsel to an ad hoc group of first lien lenders in the chapter 11 cases of Foresight Energy, a leading producer of thermal coal, involving $1.5 billion in liabilities.
  • Centric Brands: Counsel to the second lien noteholder and postpetition lender in the chapter 11 cases of Centric Brands and its affiliates, a leading global apparel and accessories company whose brands include Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Nautica, involving $1.7 billion in liabilities.   • Nortel Networks: Counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the chapter 11 cases and parallel CCAA proceedings and administration proceedings of Nortel Networks and its affiliates, a multinational telecommunications and data networking equipment manufacturer. The restructuring featured a series of section 363 sales totaling more than $7.5 billion in proceeds, including the sale of a patent portfolio for $4.5 billion.
