James Roome Again Named by Financial News Among Top 50 Most Influential Lawyers

(London) – Akin Gump is pleased to share that financial restructuring partner James Roome has been named by Financial News to its list of the top 50 most influential lawyers. The list, launched in 2021, also saw Mr. Roome recognized in its debut.

Mr. Roome, the senior partner in the firm’s London office, is described in the accompanying profile as “one of the leading restructuring lawyers in Europe” who “advises bondholders and other creditors on some of the most complex cross-border insolvency and turnaround cases.”

In particular, he is commended by Financial News for his work leading teams to help “creditors on some of the largest corporate crises resulting from Covid, particularly in the travel, oil and retail sectors.” Financial News cited his work on landmark recapitalizations as continuing to “cement his place at the top of the market.”
