For “Hollywood Silent So Far on Georgia’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill Proposal,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted Akin Gump entertainment partner Vanessa Roman in an article on proposed Georgia state legislation that would, according to THR, prohibit discussion of gender identity and sexual orientation at state-funded private schools.

The article notes that Hollywood studios have remained mostly silent on the Georgia bill, in contrast to reaction to a similar bill in Florida. Georgia hosts many more Hollywood-origin series than Florida, THR notes—third highest in the U.S. after California and New York.

Roman said, “[In Georgia] you have up to 30 percent tax credit that you can turn around and sell. That’s going to be a big hole in the budget that not a lot of other tax credits can fill.”
