For its article “War-Related Cyber Threats Bolster DOE Work on U.S. Supply Chains,” Bloomberg Law quoted Akin Gump senior counsel Scott Johnson. The article reports efforts by the Department of Energy to expand work to bolster the energy sector’s cybersecurity defenses amid rising threats from Russia and China, including attacks on the country’s largest producer of natural gas.

Johnson, whose practice includes representation of public utilities and other entities in the electric power industry, said, “If there was urgency then, it feels like there is even more urgency now as a result of this Russia-Ukraine situation.”
