In its “Daily Docket” newsletter, Reuters has quoted Akin Gump investment management partner Barbara Niederkofler discussing the volunteer work she was doing on Election Day to protect the rights of voters to cast their ballots.

“With this year being the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, I felt even more strongly about appreciating our democracy and our right to vote,” said Niederkofler. “I am volunteering at the Election Protection hotline, organized by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, the nation’s largest non-partisan voter protection coalition.”

Akin Gump, as previously announced (click here to learn more), closed all of its U.S. offices so that its lawyers and Business Services personnel could vote and partake in civic engagement within their communities.
