Barbara Niederkofler is principally engaged in the representation of private investment funds and their sponsors.
Practice & Background
Ms. Niederkofler’s practice focuses on domestic and international private investment funds industry, representing fund sponsors in connection with the organization, structuring and operation of private investment funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds and secondary funds. She represents some of the most prominent private equity and hedge fund sponsors as well as a broad range of other investment management clients. Ms. Niederkofler also assists fund managers in registration and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Akin Gump, Ms. Niederkofler was an associate at two large law firms in their New York and Menlo Park offices.
Ms. Niederkofler received her B.A. summa cum laude in history and international studies in 2000 from Yale University, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2003.
