Akin Gump international trade partner Stephen Kho was quoted by Law360 for its article “International Trade Developments To Watch In 2018.”

On the topic of what Law360 called the Trump administration’s “unprecedented and aggressive” proposals to reshape the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Kho, who served for nine years at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, said, “The U.S. put some fairly controversial provisions forward. It’s very hard to swallow for other countries when it’s so one-sided. If you want trade agreements to be more about the rule of law and have some teeth and be fair, those [proposals] don’t seem to be at all in line with that.”
