Akin Advises Carlyle on Completion of Acquisition of Altera Infrastructure Group's FPSO Business

(London) – Akin advised global investment firm Carlyle (NASDAQ: CG) on the completion of its acquisition of Altera Infrastructure Group's Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) business. The transaction was previously announced in September 2025 and has now closed.
The investment from Carlyle will support the continued development of the Altera FPSO business, providing access to sector expertise and follow-on equity capital for organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
The cross-practice Akin team advising Carlyle was led by corporate co-head David Sewell, with support from private equity partners Stephen Brown and Angela Becker; oil & gas partner Rob Butler; finance partner Inderveer Hothi; tax partner Natasha Kaye; and tax counsel Mohammed Natha.
