(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Akin announced today that Molly (Brimmer) Lolli has joined the firm as a senior policy advisor in Washington, D.C., further strengthening the firm’s market leading health policy team at a time of surging federal health care-related lobbying activity. Molly’s arrival expands the firm’s ability to support clients as they navigate changes to the federal health care landscape as attention to health care and oversight intensifies ahead of the midterm elections.

With a decade of public and private sector experience, Molly joins Akin from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce where she served as Senior Counsel on the Health Subcommittee. She handled a wide range of issues involving the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and played an instrumental role in the development and advancing of major public health legislation and reauthorization bills, including the reauthorizations of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA), the Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act, the Over-the-Counter Monograph Drug User Fee Program (OMUFA) and contributed to budget and tax efforts including the 2025 budget reconciliation process and the Working Families Tax Cut Act. Her Capitol Hill experience also includes senior health policy roles for Representatives Richard Hudson (R-NC) and Andy Harris (R-MD).  Earlier in her career, she worked in government relations at Cardinal Health, giving her additional insight into the policy and regulatory dynamics shaping the health care and life sciences industry.

“Molly’s arrival meaningfully strengthens our ability to guide clients through the most significant health policy developments emerging from Congress and federal agencies,” said Hunter Bates, co‑leader of Akin’s lobbying & public policy practice. “Her deep experience shaping major public health legislation and working across key committee leadership makes her an exceptional addition to our nationally recognized team. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm.”

“I’m thrilled to join Akin’s leading bipartisan health policy practice and to put my congressional experience to work for clients navigating an increasingly complex legislative and regulatory landscape,” said Molly. “The firm’s across‑the‑aisle strength, collaborative culture, and elite lobbying team make it an outstanding place to continue this work.”

Molly joins a top-tier bipartisan health policy practice that includes Anna Abram, former FDA Deputy Commissioner and Health Policy Director and Senior Advisor to Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) at the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee; Shawn Bishop, former Chief Health Advisor for the Senate Finance Committee under Chair Ron Wyden (D-OR); Kevin Brady, former House Ways and Means Committee Chair; Kelly Cleary, former HHS Deputy General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Centers for  Medicare & Medicaid Services; and Jocelyn Wiles, former Assistant Vice President of Federal Affairs at the Pharmaceutical Care Management Association.
