- Most recently served as Senior Counsel for the Health Subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, with prior roles including advising senior Republican leaders of the House of Representatives and government relations work in the private sector.
Molly joins Akin from the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce, where she most recently served as Senior Counsel on the Health Subcommittee. In this role, she was instrumental in crafting major public health legislation and reauthorization bills, including reauthorizations of the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act (PAHPA), the Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act, and the Over-the-Counter Monograph Drug User Fee Program (OMUFA). She also worked on policy initiatives and matters involving the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In addition, she contributed to budget and tax efforts, including the 2025 budget reconciliation process and the Working Families Tax Cut Act.
Prior to her work on the Energy and Commerce Committee, Molly served in the personal offices of Representatives Richard Hudson (R-NC) and Andy Harris (R-MD). Earlier in her career, she held government relations roles at major healthcare services companies, including a Fortune 500 healthcare organization.
Molly’s recent tenure on the Energy and Commerce Committee, as well as in the personal offices of senior Members of the House of Representatives, and her experience in the private sector, has allowed her to develop a uniquely comprehensive perspective of the current policy and political landscape facing health care organizations and businesses today. She has built strong and extensive relationships on Capitol Hill, in the Executive Branch, and across the aisle, critical in the constantly evolving environment.
Molly received her J.D. cum laude from the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the Maryland Law Review and President of the Women’s Bar Association. She was a Leadership Scholar and a recipient of the William P. Cunningham Award for exceptional achievements and service to the school. She also holds a B.A. in government and politics, summa cum laude, from the University of Maryland, College Park.
