Akin Gump Advises Columbia Pipeline Partners Conflicts Committee in Merger with Columbia Pipeline Group

(Houston) – Columbia Pipeline Partners LP (the partnership) today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement and plan of merger with Columbia Pipeline Group, Inc. (Columbia) pursuant to which Columbia will acquire, for cash, all of the outstanding common units of the partnership, at a price of $17 per common unit for an aggregate transaction value of approximately $915 million. Akin Gump served as legal counsel to the partnership’s conflicts committee.
John Goodgame, a partner in Akin Gump’s oil and gas practice, led the team advising the partnership’s conflicts committee. He was joined by senior counsel Christopher Arntzen, associate Heather Ashour and tax partner Alison Chen.
