(Dubai) – A deal on which Akin Gump advised has been named the Global Bank/FI Sukuk Deal of the Year category as part of the Bonds, Loans and Sukuk Middle East Awards.  

The firm advised Kuveyt Türk Katilim Bankasi A.S. in the bank’s landmark issuance of $350 million of fixed-rate resettable sustainability Tier 2. (Learn more here)

The awards, which recognize the most innovative and groundbreaking deals from sovereign, corporate and financial institution issuers and borrowers from the Middle East, will be celebrated at a ceremony in Dubai on June 8.

The Akin Gump team advising Kuveyt Türk was led by partner Rizwan Kanji, with support from counsel Hamed Afzal and associate Sahar Abas. The team’s work on this transaction was also honored at the IFN Awards (read more here).
