Akin Gump Advises VimpelCom Subsidiary Global Telecom Holding in Sale of Zimbabwe Operations

(London) – Global Telecom Holding S.A.E. (GTH), a 51.9 percent-owned subsidiary of VimpelCom Ltd., a leading international provider of telecommunications services, has completed the sale of Telecel International Limited to ZARNet (Private) Limited for $40 million. Telecel International owns 60 percent of Telecel Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd. Akin Gump advised GTH in the matter, which closed today.
Lisa Hearn, a member of Akin Gump’s cross-border transactions practice, was the lead partner on the matter. She was joined by counsel Jonathan Pico.
