(Houston) – A team from Akin Gump won summary judgment in a wrongful termination case on behalf of Inguran, LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

The plaintiff, a software developer and former Inguran employee, had sued the company for discrimination, retaliation and a hostile work environment on the basis of his age and his Cuban national origin, which he claimed resulted in the denial of a raise, denial of a promotion, refusal to provide him with longer vacation benefits and, ultimately, his termination. Judge David Hittner rejected those arguments and dismissed the case.

Akin Gump labor and employment partner Brian Patterson led the team representing Inguran. He was joined by associate Grace O’Donnell.
