(London) – Akin announced today that Adrian Chiodo has joined the firm as a leveraged finance partner in the London office. His experience spans both large-cap and mid-market transactions and he represents both debtors and creditors, a highly differentiated capability among London leveraged finance partners.
“Adrian’s experience is a powerful fit for both our London finance team and the firm’s broader corporate platform,” said Akin co-chair Daniel Walsh. “His broad skillset, financing credibility and strategic mindset deepen our team and further advance our growth in private equity and capital solutions.”
Chiodo’s cross‑border practice spans across the full range of capital needs, including leveraged finance, private credit, U.S. and European term loan B, general banking and corporate financings. He also advises on public‑to‑private transactions, restructurings and post-initial public offering (IPO) financings.
“Adrian is active at every level of the finance market, and his versatility positions him well to make an immediate impact on our leveraged finance and wider finance offering,” said David Sewell, co-head of the corporate practice at Akin. “His arrival strengthens our offering to private equity sponsors while adding depth across the wider credit landscape and enhancing Akin’s competitiveness in the leveraged finance market.”
“Akin’s momentum, particularly across its rapidly growing private equity offering, is compelling,” said Chiodo. “The firm has the scale, expertise and collaborative culture to deliver decisive, cross-border execution. I’m thrilled to join a platform that is accelerating at pace, especially as demand for sophisticated leveraged finance execution continues to rise.”
Chiodo is an England & Wales, New York and New South Wales qualified attorney and joins the firm from Covington & Burling LLP, where he led the firm’s leveraged finance practice in Europe. His arrival follows the recent additions of private equity partners Daniel Oates and Angela Becker and tax partner Sam Riesenberg in London.
