Alexis is an associate in the cybersecurity, privacy & data protection practice. Alexis counsels clients on cybersecurity compliance, privacy obligations and data breach response, with experience guiding companies through incident preparedness and regulatory investigations. Alexis also has deep experience advising defense contractors on Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), as well as advising government contractors on internal and government investigations arising under the False Claims Act (FCA). Before joining Akin, Alexis was an associate at another leading global law firm in Los Angeles. Earlier in their career, Alexis held analytics and business intelligence roles at technology and e-commerce companies.
Alexis received a J.D. from USC Gould School of Law, where she served as staff editor for the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice and founded the Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Society. Alexis earned a B.S.B.A. in mathematics from the University of Miami with honors. Alexis is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).
