Amelia is an associate in the firm’s litigation practice. She represents corporate and individual clients in a variety of complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, frequently handling matters proceeding on accelerated timelines.
Before joining Akin, Amelia clerked for Judge Mark X. Mullin of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and interned for the SEC's Division of Enforcement. Amelia also previously worked as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at a global accounting firm and an investment firm.
- Represented hedge funds in various stages of litigation, including fact and expert discovery, summary judgment briefing, pretrial proceedings, trial, and post-trial matters.
- Served on the litigation teams for the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors in the following chapter 11 cases: Diamond Sports Group, Alex Jones, GWG Holdings, and TPC Group.
