A seasoned government relations professional, she brings extensive experience in advocacy, policy development, and strategic communications, advising U.S. and international clients on complex legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical matters.
Ana has developed particular expertise in international affairs and U.S.–Latin America relations, where she counsels corporations, trade associations, and sovereign stakeholders on market access, trade policy, supply chain strategy, and political risk across the region. Her work frequently involves advising companies and government entities seeking to engage with U.S. policymakers, navigate federal agencies, and advance strategic priorities in Washington.
Throughout her career, Ana has held pivotal roles across prominent organizations, where she has successfully cultivated and managed relationships with key congressional offices, regulatory agencies, and influential external partners to drive client outcomes. In addition to her policy advisory work, she is a regular commentator on CNN en Español, where she provides analysis on developments on Capitol Hill and broader dynamics shaping U.S. politics and their implications for Latin America.
Prior to joining Akin, Ana served as Government Relations Director at Forward Global, where she led and executed lobbying strategies that advanced client priorities amid complex legislative and regulatory challenges, including matters involving cross-border policy and international stakeholder engagement.
- Represent a Latin American government in trade and tariff advocacy before Congress, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and federal agencies regarding market access and reciprocal tariff measures affecting key export sectors.
- Advise a sovereign trade ministry on U.S. trade enforcement actions, including Section 232 investigations, exemption frameworks, and economic security policies impacting cross-border supply chains.
- Counsel international public and private sector clients on legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical developments shaping U.S.–Latin America trade relations and bilateral economic engagement.
- Represented foreign industry stakeholders in matters related to the U.S. antidumping framework governing perishable agricultural products, including advocacy before the Department of Commerce and congressional stakeholders.
