Representative Matters

Successfully recruited and built out a broad-based coalition focused on rolling back a provision in the American Rescue Plan, which drastically reduced the 1099-K tax reporting threshold from $20,000 and 200 transactions to $600 and one transaction, despite initial opposition from policy-makers. The coalition is now focused on securing long-term relief in Congress.
Representing a diverse group of nearly 60 corporations representing leaders in technology and innovation across the economy, collaborating with policy-makers in Congress and the administration, to improve a patent system that has not kept pace with the global economy.
Advised a newly formed association of local music clubs to organize and call for federal help while closed because of the COVID-19 outbreak. The organization grew to more than 2,500 members across the country and created a nationwide groundswell of grassroots support sending more than one million emails to Congress and triggering the introduction of the bipartisan, bicameral Save Our Stages Act, federal legislation to establish grants to the live music industry to survive the pandemic.
Represented the nation’s leading business coalition in advancing federal reform of the civil justice system, resulting in passage of a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives during the 115th Congress. Strategized and helped coordinate information flow to key decision-makers on priority areas including class action and asbestos litigation.
Worked on behalf of a wide range of companies and trade associations to lower the corporate rate through comprehensive tax reform.
