Biography
  • Represents lenders, investors, developers and sponsors in real estate, renewable energy and data center infrastructure transactions.
  • Experience spanning approximately $8.5 billion in aggregate transaction value across commercial real estate, project finance and tax equity investments.

Arman represents lenders, investors, developers and sponsors in commercial real estate, renewable energy project finance and data center infrastructure transactions. He advises institutional lenders, sovereign wealth funds, energy developers, tax equity investors and private funds on acquisitions, financings, dispositions and leasing matters.

Arman's practice encompasses utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) project financings, tax equity investments, land acquisitions for data center development, sale-leasebacks, joint ventures and commercial real estate transactions across industrial, retail, office, mixed-use, residential and healthcare sectors. He drafts and negotiates purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, deeds of trust, easements and leases and advises on title and survey matters.

Prior to joining Akin, Arman worked as a legal extern in Mexico City. He previously interned for the East Bay Community Law Center in California in its Education Defense & Justice for Youth Clinic.  

Arman earned his J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, where he was a Dean’s Scholar and served as co-chair of the Middle Eastern and North African Law Students Association. 

Arman currently serves on the Opportunity & Inclusion Council of Akin’s Los Angeles office.

Representative Work
  • Represented major international banks in approximately $835M in combined construction-to-term loan facilities for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
  • Represented a sovereign wealth fund in due diligence of an approximately $250M investment in renewables and data center infrastructure.
  • Represented institutional investors in approximately $815M in combined tax equity investments for solar and BESS projects across multiple states.  
  • Represented a renewable energy developer in bridge loan financing and subsequent divestiture of three utility-scale BESS projects totaling approximately 550 MW and valued at approximately $535M in the aggregate.
  • Represented a renewable energy developer in land acquisitions and negotiated property conveyance to a technology company for a data center campus.
  • Represented a data center infrastructure company in an approximately $55M letter of credit facility to finance interconnection security deposits for data center projects.
  • Represented investors in the purchase of tax credits from one of the largest wind energy projects in the United States.
  • Represented an ad hoc group of convertible noteholders in connection with approximately $210M in senior secured notes issued by an aerospace company.
  • Represented a private equity firm in connection with an approximately $200M debt refinancing, performing diligence of the real estate portfolio including landmark office properties in New York City.
  • Represented borrowers, lenders and investors in approximately $340M across commercial real estate financings, acquisitions, dispositions and loan modifications spanning industrial, retail, office and mixed-use properties in multiple states.
  • Represented a national bank in approximately $325M in financing for a major television and film production studio, including preparation of copyright mortgages and loan agreements.
