Biography
- Associate in the corporate group and works across a variety of corporate areas, including cross-border private and public mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions.
Ben’s experience includes a broad range of sectors, including oil & gas and energy. Prior to joining Akin, Ben worked at another international law firm, undertaking seats within corporate, construction, commercial litigation and employment.
Representative Work
- Advised LetterOne (L1) on an agreement to transfer the majority of Wintershall Dea’s non-Russia-related upstream business to London-listed Harbour Energy plc, the United Kingdom’s (U.K.) largest oil and gas producer, for a total consideration of $11.2 billion.
- Advised Endava, a global provider of digital transformation, an agile development and intelligent automation services, on the acquisition of TLM Partners, Inc. together with its subsidiaries (TLM or the Monsters).
- Advised Helios Investment Partners, the largest Africa-focused private investment firm, on the completion of the sale of Solevo, a leading African distributor of specialty chemicals, to Development Partners International (DPI).
- Advised a client on the acquisition of undeveloped lithium mining rights in Argentina.
- Represented Longboat Energy plc, a full-cycle, North Sea oil and gas company, in a fundraise, reverse takeover and farm-ins to assets owned by Norwegian state-owned energy company Equinor, Japanese petroleum company Idemitsu and European independent exploration and production company Spirit.*
