- Advises on the executive compensation aspects of corporate transactions.
Cara advises public and private companies on all aspects of executive compensation issues and strategies arising under tax (including Sections 280G and 409A) and securities laws.
Cara frequently counsels clients on the design, structuring, negotiation and implementation of executive employment and compensation arrangements, separation agreements and deferred compensation, change-in-control and other incentive plans.
Prior to joining Akin, Cara was an executive compensation associate at another leading global firm in New York, where she represented public and privately held companies in corporate transactions and securities offerings.
Cara received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was a managing editor of the New York University Journal of Law & Business and a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. She received her B.A. in history from Duke University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
