Chao advises private equity sponsors, investment managers and corporate clients on a wide range of transactional matters. His work includes mergers & acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, control sales, minority and strategic investments, seed investments, spinouts and fund and co-investment structuring.

He also assists clients with portfolio company transactions and financing arrangements, as well as general corporate governance and investment-related matters.

Prior to joining Akin, Chao practiced in the New York office of another international law firm and previously in the Shanghai office of another global law firm.
