- Regularly advises fund sponsors and institutional investors on tax matters related to fund structuring and operations, as well as mergers & acquisitions in the investment management industry.
Chris advises clients on a broad range of U.S. tax matters in connection with private fund formation, GP stakes transactions and secondaries transactions, including sponsor-led continuation fund transactions. His practice encompasses the structuring and operations of private equity funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds, credit funds, hedge funds and funds focused on GP stakes transactions and sponsor liquidity solutions. Chris also has extensive experience with the tax aspects of M&A transactions, particularly in relation to the asset management space.
Chris routinely represents both established sponsors and emerging managers in connection with fund formation and structuring matters. His practice covers advising new fund sponsors on establishing management company structures and first-time fund raises. He works closely with sponsors across multiple strategies, with a focus on private equity. Chris also advises clients on real estate, credit and secondary market transactions.
Chris has more than a decade of experience structuring complex investment vehicles and business transactions. His practice involves advising on joint ventures, fund-of-funds structures, co-investment arrangements and other bespoke investment solutions. He has significant experience navigating the tax considerations of sponsor liquidity transactions and GP-led restructurings in the evolving private markets landscape. Prior to joining the firm, Chris was a partner at another major international law firm.
