- Represents private equity clients in connection with compensatory arrangements for portfolio companies.
Dilara represents fund managers, companies and other organizations in all aspects of compensation and benefits arrangements, including those arising under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Section 409A, Section 280G and other regulations. She guides clients through the executive compensation considerations of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
Dilara advises on the compensatory arrangements for their portfolio companies, including go-forward and day-to-day equity and cash incentive plans, structuring incentive plans for non-US participants and during co-investment transactions.
In addition, Dilara helps individual executives during negotiations of their employment, benefits and equity agreements and the corresponding tax considerations.
Prior to joining Akin, Dilara was an executive compensation associate at another global law firm in New York. She previously practiced as a corporate attorney at an international firm in Istanbul.
Dilara received her LL.M. from Duke University School of Law, where she earned the Duke University School of Law Merit Scholarship. She holds an LL.B. with honors from Yeditepe University School of Law.
