Biography

Frederik is an associate in Akin’s corporate finance team, based in London.

He advises financial institutions, investors and companies on a wide variety of financing transactions across the credit spectrum. Prior to joining Akin, Frederik was an associate in the banking and finance team of an international law firm.

Representative Work

Acquisition Finance

  • Advised a private equity firm on the provision of financing from a syndicate of lenders to support its acquisition of a cybersecurity business and its strategic combination with an existing portfolio company.
  • Advised a capital solutions provider on a senior financing package of initially up to £14 million to support a listed company’s acquisition of a media business.

Asset-Backed and Structured Finance

  • Advised a syndicate of lenders on the amendment and restatement of a multicurrency trade receivables securitisation facility of up to €550 million.
  • Advised an alternative finance provider on an up to £170 million trade receivables securitisation programme.
  • Advised a credit fund, as lender, on a receivables financing facility of up to £25 million supporting an embedded finance platform.
  • Advised a private equity real estate firm, as borrower, in connection with an up to €35 million HoldCo financing.
  • Advised a FinTech company on the sale of up to £80 million of future deposit and mortgage loan originations via two separate forward flow arrangements.
  • Advised a credit fund, as borrower, on a back leverage "loan-on-loan" financing.
  • Advised a credit fund, as manager, across multiple European collateralized loan obligation (CLO) transactions.

Fund Finance

  • Advised an alternative asset manager, as borrower, on the provision and amendment of multiple subscription line facilities.
  • Advised a bank, as lender, on the provision of a subscription line facility of up to €200 million.
  • Advised a bank, as lender, on the provision of a term and revolving GP support facility of up to €40 million.
  • Advised a bank, as lender, on the provision of two subscription line facilities of up to $270 million in total.

Venture and Growth Finance

  • Advised a software company on a $35 million secured financing to refinance its existing debt.
  • Advised a credit fund, as lender, on a €51 million financing provided to a media production and financing company.
