- Serves on the knowledge management team for the investment management practice, with a particular focus on closed-end funds.
HY is a knowledge management counsel in the investment management practice. She provides advice and guidance on matters involving the ongoing operation of private investment funds, fund documents, fund subscription materials and regulatory and compliance issues related to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940 and various securities laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Akin, HY was an associate at another leading global firm and at a New York based firm, where she advised on investment management transactions. HY also served as a legal extern for Judge Vera Scanlon at the U.S. District Court, EDNY, and as a legal intern at the NY State Office of the Attorney General, Litigation Bureau.
HY received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was recognized as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She holds an M.Phil. in linguistics from the University of Cambridge, King's College and a B.A. cum laude in art history and linguistics from Columbia College.
